 Hi guys, check out this store I found out there and with lots of information about the most gothic looks;

Red Gothic Dress

Gothic dressing style is associated with mysterious, dark, homogeneous, and antique features. The dress has elements of black, dark, gold, red, green, purple, brown, and pink color as primary colors. Dark lipsticks, dark hair colors, pink streaks, dark-colored long-medium skirts, or dresses are part of Gothic fashion.

When we talk of Gothic fashion, the primary color that is prominently seen and visualized is black. But there are other colors, and the themes associated with them are of importance. So, the next primary color that many people choose is red. This comes with a different feel and feminity. The dresses come in various materials, from linen to cotton to chiffon to gauze.

Gothic colors add in ambiance, and this atmosphere sets the mood. Each color represents a story and an individual characteristic. Let's see what each color means and what is so special in the Red Gothic dress.

Black-Red

These are primary Gothic colors. These colours represent the Gothic genre. They symbolize an emotional response to an individual or to people when a particular colour is seen.

Specialty of Red

Few studies state that Red offers dynamism and dominance. It has a stimulating and exciting effect on the eyes. Red colour creates a negative and positive emotion equally based on the situation. Warmth and passion are the positive feelings associated with red colour. While intensity and aggression represent negative feelings. Red is also the colour of blood and fire. This implies energy, strength, war, power, danger, and determination. The other strong emotions associated with red colour are desire, passion, and love. Red elevates blood pressure, raises the rate of respiration and human metabolism. It indicates risk and danger.

The other prominent colours are:

Black associates to evil, power, mystery, death, fear of unknown, and elegance. This colour is usually combined with orange or red for aggressiveness.

Blue associates with negative emotions, dark night skies representing depression.

Purple associates with the strength and energy. It is a combination of strength of red and integrity/spirituality of blue.

Green has a relaxing, refreshing positive side. On the negative side, it has guilt and tiredness.

Gold associates to happiness, energy, and joy. It has warmth and stimulation.

Pink associates to the romance, friendship, and love.

White associates to new beginnings in life. It also represents paleness of the face and deadly light of the moon.

All the above colours can be combined with red to add in other Gothic representations to the attire.

Gothic elements in Gothic Fashion

There are a number of elements that make the gothic style stand-out in fashion. A typical gothic dress is comprised of dark shades and hues along with black elemental touch. The subcultural citizens of Goth bring them. They are marked by various clothing styles like net-types, silk laces, hand-gloves, leather material. They are profusely coloured with shades like scarlet and dark velvet colours which are known to symbolize luxury and overindulgence protest. Their make-up is also made sure they match with the dark themed outfits. Hence, they use black or any dark coloured lipstick, wig or dye, nail paints, and an eyeliner.

The gothic style is classified according to age. The early ones had a form that is simple yet filled with grace and custom.

Early gothic themes consisted of plenty of trimmings and some tightly sewed sleeves. Gothic styles are featured and characterized by deep and low collars. The dresses from the gothic style were considered long. However, everything changed as we moved to the next era. The gothic style from the earlier era is categorized by stiffness in their clothing material. This is very noticeable as the cloth's stiffness increased with time when the dresses were arranged in chronological order. Late gothic styles included upper body improvisation. They were highly characterized by padded clothing, pleats that were very crisp, puffed sleeves, and so on and so forth. One can easily distinguish the characteristics of the era.

When it comes to males, earlier gothic styles had so much in store for them. In this era, men's hairstyles were given importance. They are mostly of bob style length flowing till the jaw. Their hair is of an appropriate length. Bangs covered their foreheads just above the eyelids. Bleaching was a common custom of the goths of that time. The most well-known and used color was blonde. Few wore beards. Late styles of Goth includes a popular hairstyle worn by men. It is also a bob but with tidily groomed curled up ends.

When it comes to women's hairstyles in the respective periods, they are pretty much the same. They had loosened their hair to flow smoothly and rest on their shoulders. However, their hairstyle would be a bun if married. Goths also utilized many accessory items like gorget, wimple, etc. to hide the bun. The veil was used to cover the face until the nose.

Corsets played an important role when it comes to gothic styles and customs. They make the goth dresses look like a style synonymous to an hourglass, and the shape was pretty well-known in medieval eras. It is present even in a few of the current gothic styles for their aesthetics and graceful-looking characteristics. However, the style was limited and uncomfortable. The ease enhanced after a certain period.

Men often wore costumes that were very much like the pirate ones. These were perfect for the hot weather. The elements include dark coloured trousers, brimmed hats, and accessories like jewelry, long boots, and umbrellas. Ladies wore boots as well, but they were lighter than the male ones. Black coloured boots were the most well-known, but blood-red colour were also seen.

Other characteristics increased the comfort of the wear while maintaining the style. One such type is the fishnets that are often worn during the summer season. Other comfortable elements are the puff, bloomers, lace skirts, etc. This increased their popularity.
